Long trade and Short trade

If you have read the earlier chapters, then you already know what long and short trades are, although you might not be familiar with these terms. In simple terms, long trade means a buy trade i.e. a deal in which you are buying a currency pair. On the other hand, short trade means a sell trade i.e. a deal in which you are selling a currency pair.

Suppose you feel that the market for a particular currency will go down, then you will sell that currency pair or short it. Similarly, if you feel that the market for that particular currency will go up, then you will buy that currency pair or long it.
