Cross Currency

Most currencies are traded against the U.S. dollar, and the U.S. dollar is frequently the base currency in the currency pair. But this is not true for all the currency pairs. Euro, which is relatively new, is used in the same way. When USD is neither the base currency nor the quote currency in a currency pair, it is known as cross currency. The cross currencies increase the trading possibility in the forex market. The most widely used cross currencies are EUR/GBP, EUR/CHF and EUR/JPY.
